I think faced with a choice between building more refineries and having to drive smaller cars or even take public transportation, the American public will come to their senses and demand more refineries. I think Tim would definitely want more drilling.

really? and where do you plan to process this magical offshore oil? the united states already can’t keep up with its own demand for processing petroleum. no new refineries have been built in over 30 years, and plans for new ones are constantly scuttled because of a “not in my backyard” attitude.
wouldn’t tim rather see more fuel efficient vehicles, built with pride in america?

As Representative Issa brought up, I don’t think Tim Russert would have liked to see the price of gas rising this fast. Russert would definitely be campaigning for offshore drilling right now.
