Feds Must Improve Arizona Infrastructure
Yesterday, when I saw CNN there was a bumper into a commercial break with the headline “Cindy McCain’s Need for Speed”. Wolf Blitzer teased the spot saying she didn’t tell her husband. I figured this was CNN’s way of dragging back that old chestnut were all sick of hearing about how Cindy McCain’s addiction to Percocet and Vicodin and the way she stole from her own charity to feed her addiction firing the whistle blower who turned her in.
Thankfully, the story was a light human interest piece about Cindy McCain getting her pilot license. What alarmed me though was what she said the reason that she got her pilot’s license was because her “husband was running for senate in Arizona and in Arizona the only way to get around the state is by small private plane.”
This is beyond scary. I can understand in some places in Alaska where there aren’t roads and I can certainly understand that this happens in third world countries, but Arizona is right in the middle of this country. The federal government must immediately begin working on both public transportation and roads and highways for the people who live there. These are people in the middle of this great country and they deserve much better than having the kind of hardship that comes with being totally isolated without a plane.
Fortunately, as a wealthy heiress Cindy McCain didn’t have trouble outlaying the needed funds for her own plane, but for a lot of people it could break their bank. The current Secretary of Transportation is Mary Peters. You can call them at the General Information Main Switchboard at: 202-366-4000 Monday through Friday between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm EST excluding Federal Holidays. Please just take a moment to drop a line and demand that roads be built for the people of Arizona immediately.
hahahahaha!!!!!!!!
really? you think there’s no roads? what a wizard!!
what she meant was that the state is so big that it takes too long to drive everywhere, so flying is preferred.
try looking at a map next time, genius.

I really do not think that that is what Mrs. McCain meant. She said flying was the only way to get anywhere. It would have been really petty for her to say “Driving is for the little people”.

what she’s saying (once again) is that in order to cross the state to speak with possible constituents, it makes more sense to fly than to drive. has nothing to do with being elitist. has MUCH to do with time management.
