Hello from Grand Rapids, Michigan.  We saw the Ford Museum today and it was a bit dull.  Too much about unity and parties coming together.  I wish there had been more on Ford’s big accomplishment pardoning Nixon to help unite a divided country.  There was a lot to admire in Ford, but he’s not one of my favorites.  I’m really looking forward to making it to Iowa tomorrow and seeing Hoover’s Museum.

Somebody had asked before about my travelling companion.   Jim is a friend of mine going back to our college days in the Young Republicans.  He’s been going through a tough time since he caught his son watching “Dancing with the Stars”.  We’ve talked about taking the boy on the road next year to man up the little tinkerbelle, but in the meantime I’ve been trying to counsel Jim father to father.  Tomorrow is going to be our last big Presidential Library.  Even though this is costing us a pretty penny at about 11 miles to the gallon highway-this is something every American should do.

  1. When you’re right Nate, you’re right. Two middle-aged white men in a Cadillac. Driving across the Midwest to pay homage to other white men and sharing a room at the Amway Hotel. What could be a better example of heterosexuality for little Brad than that?

  3. Implying? I was just stating the facts man. Was there some part of the story I misunderstood?

  4. sounds like you’re driving across the country in a fully loaded freightliner, not a cherokee. or did you just poke a hole in your gas tank to lower your mileage?

  5. Remember, wrong, that Cherokee is hauling a lot of weight and a lot of hot air.

  6. Its loaded down with storage materials I haven’t had a chance to clean out and we have the air conditioning cranked. We also probably should put some air in the tires, but going between 75-80 we’re getting about 11 miles per gallon.

  8. There’s nothing like upping that dependence on foreign oil to make one feel like a good American.

  9. We are currently fighting with China and India for precious fuel. By using that fuel up we are depriving them and hurting their economies. Driving more helps the economy.
