Please Visit My Daughter’s Blog

The blog beats her sitting around stuffing her face with cookie dough and watching tv.
It has been fun to have a father-daughter activity like Emily’s Cougars for Clinton Blog. We’ve been able to spend some quality time with the one thing we both agree on–Obama’s a loser. The problem is that she’s just not getting enough hits. I told her if she couldn’t average at least 150 a day I’d shut her down and she’s barely getting 60. I’m disappointed in her and I think the problem is she’s not promoting her site enough. She asked me to ask my readers to visit because, “My dad will shut me down. He’s like that.” I feel so happy that she has an activity to do that doesn’t involve eating so as her father I’m asking you to visit her blog.
Palin Will Be McCain’s Intern
Some people who are thrilled to have a woman on the ticket are a little worried about Sarah Palin. Not because she doesn’t believe in manmade global warming or because she doesn’t go for this whole evolution thing, but because of her limited experience in foreign policy. However, that really really shouldn’t be a problem. According to McCain adviser Charlie Black, “”She’s going to learn national security at the foot of the master for the next four years, and most doctors think that he’ll be around at least that long.”
Presumably, McCain will be like Obi Wan Kenobi to Palin’s Luke Skywalker. When McCain thinks she is ready he’ll stop trying to keep such a tight control on his temper or something and pass on leaving Palin a clear path to be President. Until then Palin will basically be a paid intern learning how to govern at the foot of McCain. Remember, if you take over the Presidency because of succession it doesn’t count against your two terms. By the time this is all said and done Palin could have a 15 year Presidency. I really love the idea of a 23 year Republican White House.
Palin’s Public Service was Forged in Wasilla
Having a beauty queen for a mayor may sound odd, but in the town of Wasilla, Alaska Sarah Palin was just one of many colorful residents that inhabit Wasilla, Alaska. While having a popula of 8,000 the Palin administration had a number of difficult situations to deal with. Palin describes herself as an accidental politician who only reluctantly got into politics after incumbent Mayor Vincouer refused to put in a stop sign despite promising to do so 5 years before.
It was Palin who saw a health care crisis in town and managed to land a doctor from the lower 48 to take care of the town’s sick and injured. Though ultimately unsuccessful, Palin spearheaded an effort to convince a group of Japanese businessmen to build a golf resort in Wasilla. This gave her both experience with foreigners and business experience.
Palin believes in the power of the press and it was under her leadership that citizens were able to save the town’s newspaper–The Wasilla News and World Telegram. She also worked closely with the town’s largest employer Minnfield Communications so she knows a thing or two about business.
While liberals may talk down her experience as mayor, it is clear that Sarah Palin learned a lot during her time as mayor and it is that experience thatwill make her a great Vice-President.
Behind Every Good Man…Sarah Palin
This is reposted from my daughter Emily’s site. The site contains articles by both myself and Emily, but I thought this one deserved the wider readership of my blog:
When Barack Obama named Joe Biden as his vice-president it signaled that Obama did not have much confidence in his own experience or judgement and needed a more seasoned politician to help him out. By choosing a woman with less experience than Barack Obama, McCain has shown that he is totally confident in his own experience and judgement to lead. I am too.
At first, it might seem kind of strange to think of a girl in such a high political office, but really being a Vice-President is a lot like being a wife. Your job mostly is to make excuses for the President, go to functions he doesn’t want to go to, run the senate even though they don’t let you vote, and make sure the President takes his medication. These are all jobs that are well-suited for a woman.
Palin, like McCain is a maverick. She won’t even let lobbyists in her office which is probably why she didn’t reallize she was on McCain’s short bus. Senator Ted Stevens has represented Alaska since the Kennedy administration. He said of Palin and her running mate for governor, “We have a state that needs new management. These two people represent a new generation and they represent a new vision, a new energy. They represent the kind of people who should come along and take our places.” That’s high praise indeed from Alaska’s senior statesman.
Let’s face it at 72, McCain is an extra order of bacon from having a fatal grabber. If he does Palin will become the country’s first woman President. Fortunately, she brings to the job nearly 2 years of experience as governor of a state with a population bigger than all, but 17 cities in this country. As it was pointed out on Fox News today, Alaska is next to Russia and she has managed to avoid any kind of invasion or undo Russian influence unlike Georgia. She also brings her expertise at culling the reindeer population to the lower 48.
With McCain’s own daughters nearing the aging of serious romantic relationships, I’m sure that they would be happy to have Aunt Sarah in office to make sure that they never get their heart broken by a federal employee without consequences.
Let’s ride John McCain’s coat tails to history lady. McCain/Palin ‘08 and one bout of snow shoveling by John McCain could be our path to history.
Why Obama’s Speech Was So Wrong
As I slept on it, I reallized exacctly what was wrong with Obama’s speech last night. He has put to us a battle going on inside American between hope and fear. That’s all well and good, but Obama then chooses the wrong side of the equation. Hope is a luxury for third world countries with nothing to lose. As Americans it is fear that has kept us safe these past 8 years and fear that has helped us maintain our highe standard of living. Hope would lead to the collapse of both the quality of our life and the calues that we as Americans hold so dear.
What will protect us from the massing swarm of illegal aliens? Fear. What has kept us safe from attacks by Iraq? Fear. What has fueled an economy that is fundamentally strong despite foreclosures and $4 a gallon gasoline? Fear. Fear is the only thing that can lead us into the future. We have 4 different wars to be afraid of. We will never begin to start offshore drilling in order to reduce the cost of gas by 2 cents a gallon in a decade without fear.
Obama and his followers can have their hope that moves mountains, but it is fear that builds walls far more powerful than any mountain. Obama missed a great opportunity by choosing to inspire rather than scare Americans. Let’s hope the Republicans don’t make the same mistake.
In the Temple, The Grecian Temple Obama Speaks Tonight
I dozed off, but the speech seemed to be the same old same old. I couldn’t believe the way Obama kept attacking poor John McCain. Once again the speech was totally me me me. I’m going to do this. I’m going to do that.
Another thing I really didn’t like about Obama’s speech is he never called me his friend. John McCain never fails to address us as his friends, but Obama kept his distance. I am sure that when I have a chance to watch more Fox News and hear some other criticisms I will find more wrong with the speech to report on tomorrow. Fox just pointed out that while the delegates were thrilled with the speech, the ordinary convention goers in the cheap seats were bored. This is interesting.
Noun Verb POW
This new website dishonors not only John McCain, but all American POWs.
I was surfing the web looking for liberal websites and just on a hunch I typed in www.nounverbpow.com. The result was apalling. I found a poorly designed website full of fake McCain stuff. There was an awful pseudo-country song, some ridiculous fake McCain positions, pictures of Cindy McCain with African children all designed to make people think that this is actually a real John McCain website.
To the computer savy Republican it should be obvious that “nounverbpow” is a Democrat attack on McCain that means he supposedly uses the fact he was a POW to shield hismelf from all attacks. You know I bet when he was in Vietnam McCain would have liked to have something to shield himself from attacks so he wouldn’t have to spend 5 years as a POW. In any event, McCain would never name a website that. It’d be like admitting the Democrats were right.
We need to shut this website down because some less intelligent people will think its a legitimate John MCain website and believe those are his real stands on the issues. This is the worst type of dirty politics. If somebody with a bit more computer knowledge than myself can find the email address of the individual who put up the site and the company to email to about this spoofing I’d be very grateful.
CNN Finally Gets Obama Right
I waited a very long time, but CNN finally got Barack Obama’s tax “cut” right. Americans will pay considerably more under Obama’s tax policy than McCain’s if they make as little as $161,000 to see any kind of savings under Obama and that includes McCain’s tax on medical benefits. If you ignore that tax, Americans making as little as $112,000 will pay more under Obama. Now Obama supporters will say that the huge savings for people making $66,000 or less make this worthwhile, but people who make that little probably get food stamps already anyway. I grant it we should worry about those less fortunate than ourselves. I am always free with a buck when I see those Salvation Army Santas and Christmas time. However, when it comes to tax policy, we need to protect the gains of us making over $112,000. A country is only as strong as its middle class.
Our Sister Site
I am very proud of my daughter Emily. Though I’ve mentioned that she needs to lose some weight, she really has some wonderful other talents. Her politics are a bit different than mine, but together we have put together a new website that I think is great called Cougars for Clinton. The site is for Hillary supporters like herself who believe that the best way to honor Hillary is to continue to fight for her no matter how many times she begs them to stop. My daughter is quite the chip off the old block and her post needed very little editing. The two of us have decided that the best way to carry on Hillary’s struggle is to support John McCain.
Hillary’s Speech Unconvincing
BREAKING NEWS
Hillary Clinton just gave an extremely halfhearted attempt at creating Democratic unity tonight. I guess acting is yet another thing the ice queen can’t do. Hopefully, those of you who are Hillary supporters out there will have seen through her thin charade and continue to support John McCain. A lot of forced smiles but not a lot of real support. Let’s go Pumas and Cougars, we’ve got a maverick to elect! Still in Pueblo where the ice machine is way too loud. There is no better way to make the Democratic establishment regret not taking you seriously as a voter than to praise your candidat’es speech while ignoring the mean of that speech and throwing your support 100% behind the campaign of somebody who is the antithesis of what she has been fighting for her whole life. You know a wise man once told this joke, “Did you hear the one about the woman who is attacked on the street by a gorilla, beaten senseless, raped repeatedly and left to die?” The punch line: “When she finally regains consciousness and tries to speak, her doctor leans over to hear her sigh contently and to feebly ask, “Where is that marvelous ape?” The moral of the story of course is if you’re going to get raped anyway, you may as well enjoy it.
