Live Blogging of Presidential Debate #2

with 3 comments

I’m excited to see if the Republicans can make it three blowout wins in three debates.  My Matt Druge hat is on, my doughnuts are ready, and my Mountain Dew is chilled.  John McCain is the to Town Halls what Otis was to town drunks.  This is going to be good.

8:01 – Here we go.  Let’s see who wins the important shaking of the hands.  Palin killed with “Can I call you Joe?”

8:02 – McCain makes  a brave choice by looking at Obama.  I like it.

8:03 – Why the economy questions?  What the typical American cares about is Obama’s relationship with William Ayers.  Sure Obama talks about facts fine, but what about character. If he’s not secretly a Muslim he should come out and say it now.

8:06 Obama keeps talking about the middle class.  What about the rest of us?

8:06 Wow! McCain addressed Alan by name.  He’s much more sincere.

8:07 Wow the economy is terrible and the fundamentals were so strong a couple weeks ago.

8:08 McCain should appoint his economic adviser Phil Gramm as Secretary of the Treasury.

8:10 Obama just advocated giving a tax cut to people who aren’t spending enough time with their kids.  Those people shouldn’t get a tax cut.  What about their poor families.

8:11 McCain knows his stuff when he talks about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

8:18 “Both parties got us into the crisis?”  I don’t see how you blame the Republicans for this.

8:21 Good old Joe Lieberman.  Since he’s an independent, its actually tripartisanship.

8:22 Obama voted for every increase in spending?  I thought he voted against the troop funding? Obama is even worse than I thought.

8:23 Both candidates seem to be using the “answer the actual question” strategy which Sarah Palin avoided last week.

8:24 Brokaw is such a liberal hack.  Where does he give off giving McCain a list of 3 things to keep track of.

8:25 “Less benefits! More nuclear power plants!”  That would make a great McCain bumper sticker.

8:28 Like George Bush we should all give up golf for our troops.  I hope McCain isn’t talking about cutting the earmark to study bear DNA that he voted for.

8:32 One way I save energy is by using disposable plates and cups instead of running my dishwasher.

8:34  Wow for $18,000,000,000 we could really reallize my dream of a self storage Hall of Fame.

8:35  A scalpel is much more elite than a hatchet.

8:35  At least McCain knows Obama wants to raise taxes even if Obama doesn’t know he wants to.

8:37  Wow! Doubling the exemption for each kid. I bet that was Sarah Palin’s idea.

8:39  A quarter million dollars a year?  What about the rest of us Barack?

8:41 McCain says fixing social security isn’t tough.  I give him points for that.  If McCain can get a job like President in his 70s and 80s, why can’t the rest of us become Walmart greeters?

8:42 Thank you John McCain.  I think your best days are ahead of you too.

8:44 What about rocket packs?  I want a rocket pack!

8:46  If McCain voted 23 times against alternative fuels, I guarantee it was the Mavericky thing to do.

8:48  If we can add 1% more oil in 10 years we will be building a bridge to rocket packs!

8:50 Obama is talking about the health care crisis.  What ever happenned to rub some dirt on it and walk it off?

8:53 I agree with McCain.  We need to get health care records on the internets, but shouldn’t rely on the government to do it.  We should be able to type it in ourselves.

8:54 I cross state lines to by fireworks from Krazy Karl’s roadside shack.  Why not do the same with healthcare?

8:58  Why hasn’t Biden done anything about the banking rules in Delaware?

8:59  As McCain says only send troops where its worth it.  Places like Iraq, Afghanistan, North Korea, Iran, Syria, Pakistan, Russia, and Spain.

9:04  Great!  Brokaw wants an Obama Doctrine and a McCain Doctrine.  Hasn’t poor Sarah been through enough?

9:06 McCain knows a stranger is just a friend you haven’t met.

9:07  If there’s one thing McCain has, its a calm hand on the tiller.

9:12  Wow!  McCain just called Osama bin Laden a freedom fighter!  I think if he’s elected he may bring us peace with al-qaeda the way that Reagan brought us peace with the Soviets.

9:16  If the Brits want us to put an acceptable dictator into Afghanistan, what about making Dick Cheney governor?

9:18  Somehow McCain needs to get POW into this debate.

9:20  It is interesting that McCain had no trouble looking into Putin’s eyes, but was so hesitant to look into Obama’s.

9:21  Brokaw reminded McCain to get in the POW thing.

9:21  One thing for sure, if we do restart the cold war, Spain won’t be in NATO.

9:23  Why did they stick all the white guys in one section?

9:25  So many men, so little hair.   I think the studio audience thought this was a  hair loss cure infomercial.

9:27  The problem with a League of Democracies is that somebody has to be the Cubs.

9:33  Thank goodness we had the extra 3 minutes so McCain could get POW in.

Well with the debate over I have to say that McCain creamed him.  I can’t see how else you can look at it.  McCain should stick with the calm hand on the tiller approach.

  2. I am tired of the empty rhetoric of both of these corporate parties. I feel sorry for anyone who cannot see through the empty lies of these fools.

At the end of the day — which candidate is going to END CORPORATE CONTROL of our government? Not Obama, Not McCain.

Which candidate is going to END CORPORATE PERSONHOOD? Not Obama, not McCain.

Which candidate will CUT WASTEFUL MILITARY SPENDING? Not Obama, Not McCain.

Which candidate will put the power BACK IN THE HANDS OF THE PEOPLE instead of the giant corporations? Not Obama, Not McCain.

    ONLY NADER.

  3. My question is why vote for Nader? He’s done greedy things in his life. He’s made failures of judgement. If you’re going to vote for somebody with no chance of winning, why settle for Nader?
