Improper Trials Get Improper Results
I’ve never been a big fan of OJ Simpson. Of course he murdered his wife. However, his recent trial in Las Vegas for armed robbery was a joke. Simpson is accused of kidnapping and robbing two sports memorabilia dealers at gunpoint in a casino hotel room.
However, there were so many mistakes made during the trial that an innocent man like OJ now faces prison for much of the remainder of his life. District Court Judge Jackie Glass erred on decisions during jury selection, her limitations on cross-examination of witnesses during trial and her instructions to jurors before deliberations.
In Alaska a committee tained by the presence of Democrats found Sarah Palin guilty of abusing her power in replacing Walt Monnehan as the head of the Alaska State Troopers. If they had bothered to read the report put out by the McCain-Palin campaign a day earlier, they would have known that she was innocent. The accusations of misconduct stemmed from an article by a blogger.
We need to write to both the US Supreme Court and the Alaskan State Legislature with two simple messages. “Free OJ! Free Sarah!”
