Grammies Prove Glenn Beck Right
Glenn Beck has been warning us for sometime now that the Obama administration is planning to use the military to eliminate our individual rights and crack down on all dissent. Many of the liberal elite have tried to tell us that Beck was simply overreacting and speaking in hyperbole, but it is that same liberal elite who shows us just how dangerous things have gotten. Jamie Foxx showed up in a military uniform which might not have meant much in itself, after all you never know when Kanye West will be charging the stage.
However, watching the Black Eyed Peas who I might add have connections with the President through Will I. Am and Beyonce both showed up with full armies. I do not know if this was some sort of musical statement, but it appears that the artists are themselves worried about a coming revolution and have been using the money that they have made in the entertainment industry to acquire their own private forces much like the Warlords in Afghanistan who control their own private armies. If there is a war coming to the streets near you, expect the entertainers to have the money to make sure that themselves and their money is protected. The Grammies tonight were most disturbing.
Protecting Our Children from Smutty Dictionaries
Long time readers of this blog will know that I am not a big fan of books. The printed page is an outdated communication tool that belongs back in 17th Century Germany with the inventor of the printing press Steven Gutenberg. I am opposed to my tax dollars being wasted on libraries to store these useless relics of an earlier age. However, the one book that I find especially dangerous is the dictionary. This book contains the words that spell out all the smutty, vulgar, and deviant writings that we need to protect our children from. It only requires a relatively clever child to put the dictionary words in the right order to tell a story that would make a sailor blush. Furthermore, our founding fathers were schooled on creative spelling–the authoritarian rule of the spelling conventionalists is a slap in the face to American values.
Fortunately, some good folks in Riverside, California complained to the Menifee Union School District and got the dictionary pulled from the schools. Isn’t it a parent’s right to teach their children new words? This is how government indoctrination starts. “It’s just not age-appropriate,” said school spokeswoman Betti Cadmus, “It’s hard to sit and read the dictionary, but we’ll be looking to find other things of a graphic nature.”
One board member told the Press-Enterprise that there are probably more objectionable terms in the dictionary. You can count on it. Unfortunately, a group of liberal thug parents demanded that the dictionaries be returned to the school classrooms and the school board caved. However, I am hoping that this case will illustrate the dangers of a dictionary for young kids. They can not only find smut, but learn the correct way to pronounce it and its derivation. This is not what our tax dollars should be going for.
Democrats Overreact to Phone Prank Yet Again

Louisiana Democrat Mary Landrieu has shown a total lack of humor over a recent prank by 4 scamps led by the irrepressible James O’Keefe. This is the same Democrat party that overreacted when some of President Nixon’s employees tried a similar stunt in the early 1970s so that they could hear the Democrats’ reaction to all the pizza’s they had ordered for Thomas Eagleton. O’Keefe who specializes in punking Democrats had set up this caper perfectly, by having two friends pose as telephone repairmen who would then cut phone service to Landrieu’s office and then watch the hilarity ensue.
“Mr. O’Keefe has a history of trying to embarrass agencies or political entities on camera,” said J. Garrison Jordan, the lawyer for Robert Flanagan, the only one of the four men from Louisiana. “I think it was just an ill-designed stunt with no intent to commit a crime.”
And what a stunt it was. Can you just imagine their faces when they’re trying to get the phone to work–priceless. Why stop at phones though. Think how hysterical it would be to cut the fire alarm and then send smoke billowing through the halls so they’re all like, “there’s all this smoke, but there’s no fire alarm. What happened?” lol
It’s time for Senator Mary Landrieu to grow up and reallize that boys will be boys. She needs to admit that she was punked by the master and then get on with doing the people’s business. What the media hasn’t talked about in this story is Landrieu’s irrational reaction to the phone prank bordering on paranoia. What is it that Landrieu is hiding exactly? Why is she so nervous that her phones might be cut? These are the real questions the American public needs to ask. What are you hiding Senator Landrieu?
Obama’s State of the Union Speech
I am happy to continue my long history of live blogging with Obama’s State of the Union speech.
7:52 Biden has a purple tie and Pelosi is dressed in purple—the color of royalty. Wow! Will the American people stand for King Obama?
7:57 Do the Judges really need to wear their robes? It’s like look at me, I’m a Supreme Court Justice la de da.
8:00 Michelle Obama is sitting next to a 4 foot tall police woman.
8:06 If we want to cut the budget do we really need 2 guys to introduce the President? Couldn’t one guy say the whole phrase?
8:13 Victory very much in doubt–not a real rousing open. He forgot the Titanic and the Hindenberg.
8:18 Nice job by Biden on the clap fake.
8:19 Nice shout out to Bush on the bank bailout
8:28 Well if the new trains are in China, it makes sense for the Chinese to own them. Why doesn’t he get this stuff?
8:33 Boehner and Cantor eye rolling strategy key to Republican victory
8:42 Yay! More standardized tests. We will have the best bubble fillers in the history of filling in bubbles – take that China
8:56 Freeze spending at 1980 levels. Reagan was our greatest President and those levels were good enough for him.
9:02 You know who’d like this speech? Bobby Jindahl
9:19 Notice Obama doesn’t mention names–he’s making up these people. I bet the money isn’t even the kid’s allowance.
9:21 Sorry for the delay in tweeting. I dozed off.
9:30 Great we have the State of Virginia speech now
9:30 Twins freak me out
9:32 For those who say the GOP isn’t inclusive, I say to you we have an African-American on camera
9:35 An oil platform in every pool and an SUV in every garage.
9:38 The Christmas day bomber should be in Gitmo, not sent to a US court like the shoe bomber was. In fact, let’s send all criminals to Gitmo.
9:40 I’d agree the government closest to the people governs best if I didn’t live in Chicago (Daley), Illinois (Blagojevich, Ryan)
Obama Throws in Towel on American Butchers
As a free trade advocate, I find myself surprisingly disturbed to read that the United States has ended a 21 year ban on the importing of haggis. On this Burns night when haggis is the dish of honor for families of Scottish descent, the haggis will not be American made. The steaming concoction of sheep’s offal, oats and spices stuffed (by tradition) into a sack made of sheep’s gut was banned in 1989 when American officials worried about the dangers of eating offal. How ironic that the Bush administration didn’t use the same zeal to protect the President from Japanese food.
Obama’s signal that he would be opening the door to the Scottish haggis industry was greeted as a victory by both Scots and free trade advocates, but with nearly 9 million pounds worth of haggis sold in the UK alone last year and potentially hundreds of dollars more sold world wide, I can’t help wanting some of that money for the butchers of the United States. Why has President Oabama so callously thrown in the towel on the American haggis industry? I know he would probably say that people don’t think of an American butcher when they think of somebody making a haggis, but before him they also didn’t think of a black man when they thought of the President of the United States. Shouldn’t American butchers be given the same chance to succeed that he was? Where is the stimulus plan for the American haggis industry? I remain extremely disappointed in the President and his short sightedness.
Address To A Haggis
Fair fa’ your honest, sonsie face,
Great chieftain o’ the puddin-race!
Aboon them a’ ye tak your place,
Painch, tripe, or thairm:
Weel are ye wordy o’ a grace
As lang’s my arm.
The groaning trencher there ye fill,
Your hurdies like a distant hill,
Your pin wad help to mend a mill
In time o’ need,
While thro’ your pores the dews distil
Like amber bead.
His knife see rustic Labour dight,
An’ cut you up wi’ ready sleight,
Trenching your gushing entrails bright,
Like ony ditch;
And then, O what a glorious sight,
Warm-reekin, rich!
Then, horn for horn,
they stretch an’ strive:
Deil tak the hindmost! on they drive,
Till a’ their weel-swall’d kytes belyve,
Are bent lyke drums;
Then auld Guidman, maist like to rive,
“Bethankit!” ‘hums.
Is there that owre his French ragout
Or olio that wad staw a sow,
Or fricassee wad mak her spew
Wi’ perfect sconner,
Looks down wi’ sneering, scornfu’ view
On sic a dinner?
Poor devil! see him ower his trash,
As feckless as a wither’d rash,
His spindle shank, a guid whip-lash,
His nieve a nit;
Thro’ bloody flood or field to dash,
O how unfit!
But mark the Rustic, haggis fed,
The trembling earth resounds his tread.
Clap in his walie nieve a blade,
He’ll mak it whissle;
An’ legs an’ arms, an’ heads will sned,
Like taps o’ thrissle.
Ye Pow’rs wha mak mankind your care,
And dish them out their bill o’ fare,
Auld Scotland wants nae skinking ware
That jaups in luggies;
But, if ye wish her gratefu’ prayer,
Gie her a haggis!
New Basketball League to Rebreak Color Barrier
Back in the first part of the 20th century in a time before Jackie Robinson, baseball in this country like all sports was a segregated game. Some of the greatest players of the time played in what was then called the Negro Leagues. Players like Satchel Paige, Josh Gibson, and Cool Papa Bell played for teams like the Homestead Grays, Pittsburgh Crawfords, and Bingo Long’s Traveling All-Stars. What did all those teams have in common? Not a single white face. The shameful secret of the Negro Leagues is that they had a color barrier that kept white players from playing. Could white stars like Joe DiMaggio, Dizzy Dean, and Lou Gehrig have excelled playing against the best black ballplayers? Most probably. Unfortunately, racism prevented them from ever having the chance.
Basketball has a similar ugly history. While the Washington Generals have a long history of allowing white ballplayers, The Harlem Globetrotters do not. Even though the Globetrotters were founded in Chicago, they chose the name Harlem Globetrotter because of the African-American connotations of Harlem. Seth Franco didn’t break the Globetrotter color barrier until 2006. Today, the number of white players in the basketball remains extremely small.
A group of pioneers led by Don “Moose” Lewis is seeking to rebreak the color barrier by starting an all-white basketball league mostly centered in the South. Soon teams like the Knights and Wizards can be playing all over the South playing that type of fundamentally sound basketball that white players like Jason Williams and Chris Dudley have made famous. Lewis stressed that he’s not racist, but merely “what we’re stressing here is a more fundamental basketball, which blatantly fits white players better.”
We here at thatsrightnate.com salute Don Lewis. There comes a time to say, “We refuse to sit on the front of the bus”. That time is now.
Congressman Kimble Applauds Supreme Court Ruling
[This is a guest opinion from California congressman Jack Kimble who has been a great friend to this blog]
On Thursday, the Supreme Court voted 5-4 to let corporations spend as much money as they want on campaign contributions. Companies can all buy commercial time to run commercials right through the election. This is great news for the American people.
Some may call this a case of activist judges running amok, but I believe this is what the founding fathers wanted when they first incorporated this country. As a congressman, I have frequently found myself wishing that insurance companies and banks could make their voices heard so I would know how they feel on certain issues—now I can finally hear their side of things. It is great to know that industry can finally have its voice heard.
My father was thrilled to find out that he would no longer have to finance 90% of my campaign alone. For those of you who have been sending in campaign contributions, you have my gratitude, but it is no longer necessary. You can stop sending me money. This is a victory for the little guy to because it was thanks to large organizations like Freedom Works that the Teabag movement was funded.
To corporations I would like to say, “I’m listening.” If there is anything you need, my door will always be open to you. I am very interested in selling the naming rights to my seat in congress much like professional sports teams do. Every time I am interviewed on television, instead of saying Jack Kimble (R-CA) it could say Jack Kimble (R-CA-Citibank) or Jack Kimble (R-CA-PNC). This is tremendous news for democracy and for the robocall industry. After all, corporations who need other corporations are the luckiest corporations in the world.
David Brooks Reminds Us Of The White Man’s Burden
Take up the White Man’s burden–
Send forth the best ye breed–
Go bind your sons to exile
To serve your captives’ need;
To wait in heavy harness,
On fluttered folk and wild–
Your new-caught, sullen peoples,
Half-devil and half-child.
–Rudyard Kipling, “The White Man’s Burden”
America, I know we have a black President, but now more than ever it’s time for us to pick up the white man’s burden, as Rudyard Kipling so eloquently put it and spread our culture. The first obvious place to spread it to is Haiti. As New York Times Columnist David Brooks put it, “Haiti, like most of the world’s poorest nations, suffers from a complex web of progress-resistant cultural influences. There is the influence of the voodoo religion, which spreads the message that life is capricious and planning futile. There are high levels of social mistrust. Responsibility is often not internalized. Child-rearing practices often involve neglect in the early years and harsh retribution when kids hit 9 or 10.”
Brooks calls Haiti ” a story about poorly constructed buildings, bad infrastructure and terrible public services.” This is naturally quite disturbing to me as we have tried very hard to improve Haiti’s government by supporting 2 coups in the last 20 years to overthrow democratically elected leaders they mistakenly voted for . We have neither the money nor the intelligence resources to quit overthrowing Haiti’s government. Eventually, they’re going to have to roll up their shirt sleeves and get things together. I think Obama owes it to these people to overthrow their government one more time, but after that I’d cut them off.
Brooks offers a simple solution and that’s paternalism. He makes a very strong case for intrusive paternalism saying, “programs, like the Harlem Children’s Zone and the No Excuses schools, are led by people who figure they don’t understand all the factors that have contributed to poverty, but they don’t care. They are going to replace parts of the local culture with a highly demanding, highly intensive culture of achievement — involving everything from new child-rearing practices to stricter schools to better job performance.”
Let’s face it—poor people are lazy and ethnic poor are even lazier. Now I’m not implying that the people of Haiti are ethnic in their own country, but they are still ethnic nonetheless. We must go in and take over their culture with force and that is something that as white people we’ve been particularly good at over the years. Even Jane Addams of Hull House fame got it. Through her work, many immigrants were taught to give up their inferior ethnic cuisine for a diet rich in the American goodness of meat and potatoes.
Just as we do in our own country by privatizing black schools as charter schools and replacing ineffective older African-American teachers with 23 year old Ivy League educated Teach for America types getting authentic experience in the hood for a couple of years before moving on to public policy. This is the white man’s burden and it is time for us to pick it up internationally as well as domestically.
TSA Nominee Withdraws
Yesterday, everybody heard about Scott Brown’s exciting victory for the Republicans, but the GOP had another victory as well. Obama’s nomination to lead the Transportation Security Administration Erroll Southers was forced to remove his name from competition, citing danger to the country from not having a TSA director–yeah right. The only danger I see is political cowardice. I don’t even know what the TSA Director does? Make sure drunks aren’t exposing themselves on the bus?
The hero in this situation is Jim DeMint (R-SC) who has blocked Southers from being confirmed for nearly a year. De Mint’s main objective was to prevent TSA workers from joining a labor union. I applaud DeMint for this–I see no reason why the people who spend all day looking at an endless parade of X-Rays should be able to bargain for shorter work hours or more frequent rest breaks. To me, this seems like a relatively simple job and the people doing it don’t even have to wear hairnets. It isn’t like there’s anything to be gained by having qualified and talented people drawn to higher salaries and better conditions providing our airport security rather than people who couldn’t get on the midnight shift at Wendys. I’m sure that Obama’s next nominee will put a stop to this silliness.
Brown Victory Paves Way for Republican Domination
Scott Browns landslide 4 point victory in Massachusetts tonight not only showed the power of this site’s endorsements, but also potentially ushered in a new era of Republican dominance. Scott’s overwhelming victory begs the question of how big his landslide would have been without what I’m sure will turn out to be massive vote fraud by ACORN. Now that we have this seat, I hope that Harry Reid and Obama will not interfere with Brown’s mandate to go to Washington and end bank regulation and to craft a new Republican health care proposal.
There is no doubt in my mind that Obama is now a lame duck. If he wants to have any legacy at all, he should immediately begin following the GOP agenda. He can start by invading Yemen, Iran, and North Korea. I feel great knowing that next week the Republicans will be running Washington again.
On a personal note, longtime readers of this blog know that I’ve been looking for an attractive 21-28 year old conservative Christian woman of means. Tonight, I found two of them in Scott Brown’s daughters. What’s more, if you heard his acceptance speech he made sure to point out that they were available. Congratulations Scott, I’ll have your daughters home by 11. I would definitely like to begin negotiations as soon as possible.
One thing I think for sure – If Democrats are to have any hope in 2010 they had better buy trucks.
