Liberal Media Ignores 10/11 Tea Bag Protest

with 3 comments

They came from all over the country to protest the Obama administration on Sunday, but you wouldn’t notice it from the liberal elite media.  Even Fox News, which tries so hard to be fair and balanced didn’t report on the huge protest which was 3-4 times greater than the protest Fox and the other news networks broadcast live from last month.  The only place I could even see coverage of the march was way up in the channels nobody ever watches at something called Logo.

The protesters seemed far more diverse than last month’s march as I saw many families and enough minorities to finally put to bed that lie that the only protesters were white men.   The protesters made their message very loud and clear for Obama – The Constitution makes us all equal and we want to be able to buy our own health care just like the founding fathers intended.   Some of the protesters were so worried about Obama care that they didn’t think they could get married until the threat was over.   I saw two guys holding up a sign together demanding that Obama stop this health care reform so they could get married.  I did not see their girlfriends, but it seemed to me that that such articulate conservatives could have their pick.  Frankly,  marriage is just the type of American value we should be promoting Mister President.

A new symbol seems to have emerged for the Tea Party Movement as many of the protesters were carrying rainbows signs and flags.  I loved the sea of color and I thought it was a very appropriate sign for us taking back our country after the storms of the Obama administration.   Of course you wouldn’t know any of this from the mainstream media.   CNN had an advertising campaign showing that they covered the 9/12 protests, but I don’t think they even mentioned the 10/11 tea party.  There were celebrities there as well.  Even conservative diva Lady Gaga spoke to the crowd, but like most musicians wasn’t really coherent and didn’t stick to the topic of standing up to Obama.

It is clear to me that if our message is to spread, it is up to conservative blogs like this one to get the word out.  CNN, Fox, and MSNBC aren’t going to promote protesting their beloved President Obama so we have to do it.   If there were 200,000 at the 9/12 protest then there were 700,000 at this rally and you sure wouldn’t know it.   Together we need to wake the news media up from their liberal bias.

Academic Bias Latest Blow to White Male Students

with one comment

bandshirtI read an article in the Independent Collegian today about a group of students at the University of Toledo who have gotten sick and tired of putting up with liberal professors picking on them and correcting their mistakes.   I had many experiences during college with liberal professors who marked me down for my political biases, particularly in math classes.  White males are already in a very difficult position in most universities in this country.   This sort of bias only makes life harder.

Even in English literature classes, professorial bias reared its ugly head.  One time, I had gone down to Atlanta to visit a girl over Spring Break.   By a weird coincidence, my sister had taken the same class with the same professor 5 years earlier.   She had been kind enough to give me her old papers and while the professor changed the assignments, this one remained the same.   My sister had received a 95 on her paper on Paradise Lost.  I retyped it and made only the changes that the professor had indicated in grading my sister’s paper.   My sister with her overabundance of college partying had turned in her paper “late as usual” according to the cover page.   I turned mine in on time.  The result?  She got a 95 and I got an 83.

That sort of bias and more exists on today’s campuses.   Try explaining to a geology professor that you know the planet is 6,000 years old because the Bible tells you so and don’t even get me into history or political science classes.   I once had a South American History professor try to tell me that the United States was responsible for many of South America’s problems.

We need colleges to show respect for all points of view.  Many of the supposed facts they teach have a liberal bias.  They even use Arabic numerals.  To me, that’s extremely unamerican.  We need the colleges to show the same kind of sensitivity that the town of Sedalia, Missouri had when the School Board banned the Smith-Cotton High School from wearing shirts which seemed to promote the idea of evolution and just as disturbingly the idea that apes could play brass instruments.   “I was disappointed with the image on the shirt.” said band parent and district teacher Sherry Melby,  “I don’t think evolution should be associated with our school.”

With the school year just starting, it’s time we stop the political correctness and start being supportive of students with all political viewpoints or at the very least those that are right of center.  There is room in this country for moderates, neo cons, traditional conservatives, and libertarians.

Isn’t it Time to Forget About the Holocaust?

with 7 comments

I was listening to Rush Limabugh the other day and he made a great point about Obama’s trip to Buchenwald in Germany–”Who cares”.   Let’s face it folks it’s been 60 years and it’s time to move on and thank our lucky stars that the wholesale slaughter of a people can never happen again.  Limbaugh rightfully took Obama to task for, “ripping  Germany to shreds over something they did 60 years ago.”

Sure the Holocaust was sad and all that, but it is the product of an earlier age over 60 years ago and the result is a whole lot of museums, memorials, and presentations.   Let’s face it, The Holocaust has become big business.  Of course Limbaugh did little to hide his contempt from those who continue to profit from the Holocaust saying “Of course Elie Weisel gets up there and does his thing but it’s 65 years here or close to it.”

When somebody who loves this country as much as Rush Limbaugh and somebody who hates this country as much as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad actually agree on something, its either got to have some merit or they both have to be completely irrational.  Do we really need to refight this battle when it has now been established by Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich that traditional racism is dead and now is the vestige of liberal reverse racists?  Let’s face it most of the Jews who died in the Holocaust would be dead by now anyway.  It is sad, but true.  Fortunately, Rush Limbaugh isn’t afraid to point this out.  Instead, as Republicans we need to let bygones be bygones and move on to an even more dangerous threat—liberal bias.

Last week,  Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX) launched the Media Fairness Caucus, made up of about a dozen House Republicans, aiming to fight liberal media bias before the liberals can get to Fox News.  As Smith said, Let me just say — this is going to sound radical, I don’t mean for it to be radical — but to me, the greatest threat to America is not necessarily a recession or even another terrorist attack. The greatest threat to America is liberal media bias.”

This doesn’t sound radical to me at all.  Some of Smith’s complaints include attempts by the media to try and tie the Bush administration to the current Obama recession, being too pro immigrant, not calling Obama “liberal” often enough, and not grilling the First Lady with hard hitting questions.   This evil that was brought down upon the Republican Party this past election party is something that we can never forget.   As Republicans we must cry out when we see such liberal bias–Never again!

Media Lying About Economy

leave a comment »

It is about time the McCain campaign set the record straight.  If you haven’t read today’s Bloomberg you need to check out McCain adviser Kevin Hassett of the American Enterprise Institute’s column calling out the press for “politically motivated pessimism”.  According to Hassett:

The bias has an easy explanation. Yale University economist Ray Fair has shown that a weak economy hurts the incumbent party. If a Democratic-leaning press can convince everyone that the economy is in recession, then it can influence the election.

Truer words have never been spoken.  What the left wing biased mainstream media is doing is acting like gas is way overpriced at $4.25 per gallon or that the recent 5.5 percent unemployment rate is bad.  They love acting like there’s a mortgage crisis, but all America really needs is a little bit of gumption and hardwork.   I can tell you that the economy is doing great thanks to the Bush tax cuts and this is coming from a guy who only gets 9 miles a gallon.  Don’t let the media tell you otherwise.  In the words of the immortal Bobby McPherin, “Don’t worry be happy.”
