Opportunistic Democrats Trick Public Into Sympathy for Rape Victims

with 2 comments

I am outraged.   It seems Al Franken had a plan a few months ago and frankly, it was a shrewd one.  Everybody knows that the American public is naturally empathetic and their hearts will melt when you talk about rape victims.  Surely Al Franken realized this when he added an amendment to the Pentagon spending bill that would bar “future and existing” federal contracts to defense contractors and subcontractors “at any tier” who mandate employees go through a company’s arbitration process for workplace discrimination claims — including claims of sexual assault. The measure passed 68-30, with 10 Republicans voting yes and 30 courageous Republicans voting no.

I get so sick of these namby pamby liberals who demand that if they happen  to get raped repeatedly and locked into a storage container in the course of doing their job, that they should be able to go through the courts?   I’m sorry, but this defensive rape prevention is what is raising the costs of all these defense contractors.   Franken knew that Americans would get all protective of rape victims and was able to manipulate that sympathy into a win.   Now liberal groups are hitting the Republicans simply because they aren’t sufficiently anti-rape.   What does that even mean?  I mean I’m sure they don’t encourage rape or anything, but business is business.

John Cornyn (R-TX) took this heated argument public saying, ““Trying to tap into the natural sympathy that we have for this victim of this rape —and use that as a justification to frankly misrepresent and embarrass his colleagues, I don’t think it’s a very constructive thing.”

“I don’t know what his motivation was for taking us on, but I would hope that we won’t see a lot of Daily Kos-inspired amendments in the future coming from him,” said South Dakota Sen. John Thune, No. 4 in the Senate Republican leadership. “I think hopefully he’ll settle down and do kind of the serious work of legislating that’s important to Minnesota.”

Don’t the people of Minnesota deserve a Senator who will do the serious legislating and leave silly stuff like rape alone?  Where are you when we need you Norm Coleman?

McCain and Obama on Women

with 2 comments

In an appearance before the National League of Cities and Towns in Washington D.C., McCain supposedly asked the crowd if they had heard “the one about the woman who is attacked on the street by a gorilla, beaten senseless, raped repeatedly and left to die?”

The punch line: “When she finally regains consciousness and tries to speak, her doctor leans over to hear her sigh contently and to feebly ask, “Where is that marvelous ape?”

I love that one.  One of the reasons that John McCain is able to make comments like this and call Hillary Clinton a bitch or his wife a cunt is because John McCain is a sophisticated guy.  You can actually picture him showing up at a bar in his bomber jacket and picking out the girl he’s going to sleep with that night.

Obama on the other hand is more of the President of the Chess Club type.  He’s that nerd who will give a girl flowers and act really nice in front of her parents, but you know as soon as he gets her alone he’s probably a sick and perverted little twerp.

You mark my words, come November women will vote overwhelmingingly for McCain. They’ll do it because that handsome flyboy in the bomber jacket is a lot more appealing than the Chess Club geek.  You have to love American women.
