Obama’s Latest Threat to Second Amendment Rights

with 3 comments

President Obama has been working with other world leaders to keep nuclear weapons only in the hands of a limited number of governments throughout the world in a misguided attempt to protect us from terrorists and rogue states.  This little story has been ignored by the main stream media, which comes as no surprise to me.  However, I am shocked and appalled that conservative sources have also ignored this affront to civil liberties because it is not a threat to our current freedoms as much as our future freedoms.

The second amendment of our beloved Constitution clearly says that we have the right to bear arms.  Due to current technology, this right to bear arms is often limited to the right to bear guns.  This is not what our founding fathers had intended.   Anybody like myself who has hoped to one day have a small suitcase nuke as the ultimate deterrent to criminals should be likewise outraged by the attempt to withhold nuclear armaments from law abiding citizens.   Mark my words, 20 years from today if you make nuclear weapons illegal, then only the criminals will have them.

I know what some of you are thinking.  Why should an individual have the right to have a nuclear weapon capable of destroying a city?  They shouldn’t.   However, a miniature nuclear device that would be portable, easy to use, and destroy at most a couple of city blocks should be available for the defense of law abiding citizens.  One of the great things about out founding fathers is that they did not allow the limits of 18th century technology to limit freedoms.   If we allow Obama’s shortsighted policies to strip us of our future freedoms when nukes become smaller and more tactical, then we will be the ones who suffer for it.  If we allow governments to keep a monopoly on nuclear weapons, then we are forever going to be enslaved by those same nuclear weapons.

Obama’s State of the Union Speech

with one comment

I am happy to continue my long history of live blogging with Obama’s State of the Union speech.

7:52 Biden has a purple tie and Pelosi is dressed in purple—the color of royalty.   Wow!  Will the American people stand for King Obama?

7:57 Do the Judges really need to wear their robes? It’s like look at me, I’m a Supreme Court Justice la de da.

8:00 Michelle Obama is sitting next to a 4 foot tall police woman.

8:06 If we want to cut the budget do we really need 2 guys to introduce the President? Couldn’t one guy say the whole phrase?

8:13 Victory very much in doubt–not a real rousing open.  He forgot the Titanic and the Hindenberg.

8:18 Nice job by Biden on the clap fake.

8:19 Nice shout out to Bush on the bank bailout

8:28 Well if the new trains are in China, it makes sense for the Chinese to own them. Why doesn’t he get this stuff?

8:33 Boehner and Cantor eye rolling strategy key to Republican victory

8:42 Yay!  More standardized tests.  We will have the best bubble fillers in the history of filling in bubbles – take that China

8:56 Freeze spending at 1980 levels. Reagan was our greatest President and those levels were good enough for him.

9:02  You know who’d like this speech?  Bobby Jindahl

9:19  Notice Obama doesn’t mention names–he’s making up these people. I bet the money isn’t even the kid’s allowance.

9:21 Sorry for the delay in tweeting.  I dozed off.

9:30 Great we have the State of Virginia speech now

9:30 Twins freak me out

9:32 For those who say the GOP isn’t inclusive, I say to you we have an African-American on camera

9:35  An oil platform in every pool and an SUV in every garage.

9:38 The Christmas day bomber should be in Gitmo, not sent to a US court like the shoe bomber was.  In fact, let’s send all criminals to Gitmo.

9:40 I’d agree the government closest to the people governs best if I didn’t live in Chicago (Daley), Illinois (Blagojevich, Ryan)

Obama’s Grade So Far = F

with one comment

Two things happened last week that I personally failed to note in this blog.   First, the Obama Presidency passed the year mark since his election.   Secondly, my daughter Emily receiver her progress report at school.  I always hate progress reports because the teachers think they can impress me by telling me how smart my daughter is.   Don’t you think I know that?  She’s a Peele.  What I want to know is why haven’t you taken any of the two pages of  suggestions I gave you at the beginning of the year?   I’m telling you, the teachers get more Marxist every year.

I decided to grade Obama in the areas that are most important for an American President.  Sadly, it simply reveals exactly how badly he is failing:

  1. Economy: F
  2. Military: F
  3. Moral Leadership: F
  4. Americaness: F
  5. Health Care: F
  6. Foreign Policy: F

Economy: Let’s face it, President Bush was a genius.  He managed to finance a huge prescription drug benefit for seniors and two wars without having to even put them in the budget. Unfortunately, Obama is no Bush. When President Obama began his election campaign, Wall Street was so panicked by his Marxism that the economy immediately tanked.   I had hoped that given a year, he could fix the mess he made, but sadly it’s gotten worse.   In November and December of last year, Obama passed ridiculous measures bailing out the housing and automobile industries as well as Wall Street despite the fact he wasn’t even President.    Things have only gotten worse since then.

Military: In 2001 when American forces first went into Afghanistan we seemed on the verge of a dramatic victory.  Why is it that Obama has been President for only a year and we’re already in deep trouble in Afghanistan?   We left Iraq too without a decisive victory or a surrender ceremony.

Moral Leadership: I blame this failure on Obama’s secret Muslim faith, which he won’t admit.   However, there’s a reason that Glenn Beck cries nearly nightly.

Americanness: I don’t know.  Obama has just failed to show requisite Americanness.   A Republican President would never bow to the leader of Japan if it wasn’t in the course of vomiting.  It may be because he was born in Kenya, but he just doesn’t feel very American to me.  How many photos have been taken of him even attempting to clear brush.

Health Care: Obama has failed to get a health care bill through Congress largely because he has failed to reach out to Republicans.  Instead of reforming health care, he seems more intent on giving health care to people who don’t have it and haven’t needed it so far.   Poor people don’t need insurance, they have emergency rooms.

Foreign Policy: What else can you call a President who has not been able to to anything about mounting crises in North Korea and Iran except a failure.   I miss the steady hand on the Tiller that was the Bush administration.

Now, please understand that I say Obama is failing not because he is black or because I am a very partisan Republican who is incensed at having lost the election and wants to return to power in 2012.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  Instead, I say Obama is failing because by any objective measure he is.  Compare the first year of the Obama administration with the first year of Bush’s term and other than the whole 9/11 thing, it’s clear that Bush was the superior President.   The economy was better, we weren’t fighting these two difficult wars, and America was headed in the right direction.   Like all Americans, I hope that Obama will do better in the coming year.

Liberal Media Bias Invades Boobah

with one comment

We Republicans have been watching a lot of television lately.   In February of 1999, Jerry Falwell went after Teletubbies for the obvious homosexual subtext of the show.   Recently, Bill O’Reilly and Andrew Breibart showed outrage at Sesame Street when the show aired a rerun and on second viewing they realized that when Oscar the Grouch called Pox News trashy, he was really taking a jab at Fox News.   I’m actually kind of surprised it took repeated viewing for such an obnoxious attack to sink in.

I have always given PBS a wide berth because I believed that their political messages were going over the heads of small viewers so if Thomas the Tank Engine was pushing for organized labor or Dora the Explorer was calling for amnesty for illegal immigrants I didn’t say anything.   I even ignored Clifford the Big Red Dog’s subtle messages about the danger of feeding animals growth hormones.   However, the PBS show Boobah has finally gone to far.

Boobah is nothing more than political indoctrination.   I’m not talking about their insipidly saccharine messages of fat acceptance and racial harmony, but of their constant shilling for the Obama administration.  To begin with, you need to translate baby talk.   Don’t forget just how young and audience that this show is aimed at.   When Emily was a little girl I could never get her to say the words “special prosecutor”  usually it would come out as something like “procu”.   A small child saying “Obama” would end up saying something like “Boobah”.   The repeated saying of the word Boobah over and over in the show indoctrinates small children that Obama is their friend.

Now it is possible that this is a coincidence and I’m overreacting a bit.   However, if you look at the ball floating in at the beginning of the show’s intro.  That floating ball of light looks very familiar.  Now where have I seen it before?   Hmm?  I think I remember now.   Was it here?

Now, we’re starting to get past the realm of any possible coincidence.   Our tax dollars are going to support PBS and while I do enjoy the occasional Yani concert from the Acropolis, I do not approve of my tax dollars being used to support indoctrinating our preschool children to blindly serve President Obama.   If we don’t put a stop to this now, there is no telling where it will spread to next.

Obama Bungles H1N1 Vaccine

with one comment

Vaccine Protest Holy PrepuceThis country is on the verge of a health care crisis we haven’t seen in many years as the Obama administration’s  Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report there is not enough H1N1 vaccine available for everyone in the United States.  Hit especially hard by the shortage are many conservatives who had intended to boycott the vaccine, but find themselves unable to take a principled stand due to the shortage.

At the Fairport Clinic in suburban Chicago, a crowd of 15 angry protesters were turned away when the vaccine shipment that they were protesting never arrived.  “This is outrageous,” complained conservative housewife and mother of 3 Lynette Granger, “How am I supposed to teach my kids to practice abstinence with vaccination if there isn’t enough vaccine to even tempt them with it.”

Health officials say the H1N1 vaccine is difficult to grow, and that causes a delay in production and a shortage of vaccine. The CDC says there are now more than 22 million doses available, but there eventually will be some 225 million doses.   In the meantime, anti-government activists are having a hard time finding clinics that have enough of the vaccine for them to steadfastly refuse to take it.  “This is beyond irresponsible,” said a disgusted Geoffrey Spaulding of Cicero who was holding a Don’t Take the Vacsine sign, “They’ve had almost a year to get this thing ready.  Obama should be ashamed.”

As more vaccine is made available, it will first go to pregnant women, small children, and health care workers before moving on to conservative activists.  This is especially hard on conservative conspiracy theorists who have invested considerable time blogging and writing about various conspiracies about the vaccine.  “I just don’t understand how they are able to complete FEMA prison complexes so quickly, but are unable to get their act together on the swine flu vaccine.  Mark my words, there’s something very sinister afoot here,” said blogger Lewinskydefeater.

One thing is for sure, until we get enough vaccine produced and ready for public inoculation, we are unable to boycott the vaccine and that is clearly a violation of our first amendment rights.  Please call your congressman and demand that they step up production of the vaccine while there is still time to protest against it.  Our first amendment rights are too valuable to lose.

The Health Care Chart Obama Doesn’t Want You to See

with 13 comments

medical

One of the nice things about owning my own company is  that I have a graphics department at my disposal.   They’re actually not a department as much as two brothers Cristian [Sic] and Pedro who are very artistic.   Being the world’s best boss, I paid them to make a chart for me detailing the American Health Care System that I could get blown up for the wall of my office.   Now both Cristian and Pedro used this as an opportunity to harangue me for not giving them benefits, but as I told the,  if I gave them insurance I couldn’t afford to pay them $7 an hour.  Apparently, after I went through all this work, it turns out that a Republican congressman had created a chart for Obama’s socialized medicine, but I’m not sure if it was the House bill or the Senate bill and I don’t actually even know what Obama’s plan is.   Still, this chart shows why our current plan works best.

Obama’s Surgeon General is Just Too Fat

with 18 comments

Koop Flexing

Former Surgeon General used to flex his mighty guns and tell people, "take two of these and call me in the morning."

Last week, President Obama announced that he was naming Dr. Regina Benjamin to be his Surgeon General.   To start with Dr. Benjamin isn’t even a surgeon.   She’s a general practicioner who operated a medical clinic in Hurricane Katrina ravaged Alabama.   Wow, sure must be hard to build a successful practice in a hurricane ravaged area.

What has incensed myself and others though, isn’t her practice it’s her weight.   Dr. Benjamin is a very large woman who could stand to lose a good 60 to 80 pounds.   The problem is she’s going to be the one giving health advice to the nation.  How am I supposed to fill my overweight daughter with the requisite shame and humiliation to do something about her weight when she sees a woman like this making health decisions for the country.

I have chronicled my daughter with obesity in this blog before.  At 13 years old she is 5’7″ and almost 120 pounds.  She has finally lost 5 pounds after a couple years of forced weigh ins, mandatory calisthenics, and junk food searches.  I believe that the excess weight she’s been carrying has affected her health and may be responsible for recent fainting spells.  I do believe is she continues to work at the weight loss, she could be a reasonably attractive girl.

I am extremely disappointed that Rush Limbaugh hasn’t nailed Obama on this one yet, but I have found other voices who will not be intimidated by the  high fat apologists who claim that things like genetics and metabolism play a larger role in weight than willpower.   I do not agree with his religious views, but noted Wican author Bruce Goldwell stated in his blog, “I smell something very wrong about how Obama and Pal-osi are working to push their agenda through on the American people. I sure how that people pay attention here and contact their representatives and say NO. Instead, tell your representative you want them to work on Healthcare cost and that we the people will work on our belt lines.”   Think how much money would be saved if people would just stop after one slice of cheesecake.

One comment on the ABC News report about Benjamin hit the nail on the head, “This woman isn’t super fat but true super fatties are ugly and disgusting and need to be turned into fertilizer or maybe whale oil. It’s a fact! And people on foodstamps…foodstamps should be cut to zero. The gov’t should come up with a nutritious footstuff people can eat on welfare. Like oatmeal and beans and other foodstuffs. Nutritious but not likely to be abused by the damn fatties because it doesn’t taste good. Let them have as much of it as they want. The “poor” are buying sugar sodas and twinkies with my money and I’m sick of it. Damn them.”

It’s all a question of willpower which is the reason that white people have a lower level of obesity than minorities do.   People living in poverty who didn’t have the willpower to pull themselves out are of course not going to have the willpower to order only one Big Mac so the rare is higher among the poor too.   Like most guys, I’ve put on 5 pounds a year since turning 30 a decade ago, but the reason that I’m still in control of my weight isn’t because of some fancy gym or watching what I eat–it’s willpower.   If I can instill that in my daughter I will be a happy man. It’s time for this country to stand tall and proclaim from the highest mountain top as one people, “No fat chicks.”

Obama’s Risky Experiment with America

with 4 comments

The RNC launched a new website and talking point today and I think they’ve got a winner!  They caution that Obama’s healthcare program is a risky experiment with America’s future.  In fact they go on to say that Obama’s entire Presidency has been one experiment after another.   This to me is not only truthful, it’s also brilliant.   You know who does experiments? scientists.  You know who doesn’t have to? Jesus.

Barack Obama is like one of those scientists.   Always trying to figure out what to do next?  When there’s a problem or worse yet, a crisis Obama tries to figure out exactly what series of actions he takes will lead him to the right answer.   This is known as the scientific method and includes the following steps:

  1. Ask a question
  2. Do basic research
  3. Construct a hypothesis
  4. Test hypothesis with an experiment
  5. Analyze results
  6. Draw conclusion
  7. Report results

This is the same type of thinking that brought about crackpot science like evolution, the big bang theory, global warming, and astronomy.  I do not trust people who think in this kind of orderly processed way.

By contrast George Bush was a man of faith.  If he wanted to know what to do, he was guided by his Republican principles and God.   With George Bush you never had to wonder if he was experimenting with you or even if he was tracking the results.  President Bush knew that if his faith told him to do something, that was what to do.

I don’t know.  Maybe some folks one some kind of egghead reasoning machine as President, but I don’t.  Give me a decider any day of the week and I’ll leave the experiments for the science guys.

Please copy this message and send to by email, fax, or telephone to the Senate Judiciary Committee.   We must block Sotomayor AT ALL COSTS! I am writing in all capitals here so you can see how very serious this matter is.  If we can block her, we have a shot at a decent Justice–perhaps Judge Mathis.

Letter to use

Monday, July 13, 2009

Sen.
FAX:

Dear Sir or Madame (As the Case May Be):

I urge you to vote against the confirmation of Sotomayor as a Supreme Court Justice.

It did not take President Barrack Obama long to nominate a Supreme Court justice and just as I predicted he has chosen somebody with a questionable legal background and a name that I cannot pronounce.  What is wrong with Justices like Roberts and Thomas with simple to pronounce names and solid conservative principles?

In Yakin V. Tire Hill, Sotomayor’s 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals stated, “To the extent that a forum selection clause binds diverse parties by its express terms to a specific jurisdiction that is not federal, it waives a statutory right to remove…However, where, as here, the clause merely contains obligatory venue language, it conveys nothing about the parties’ intent as to jurisdiction.”  Is this the kind of sloppy work we can expect from her on the Supreme Court?  Forum selection clauses are a keystone of contract law in this country.

But the most disturbing and most important reason to vote against Judge Sotomayor is her association with La Raza, an evil group who themselves state that “Private, non-profit, and non-partisan organization focused on reducing poverty and discrimination, and improving opportunities, for Hispanic Americans.”  They are only interested in improving the lives of Hispanic Americans.  How do we know that as a Supreme Court Justice she won’t only be interested in improving the lives of Hispanic Americans.   Our best Supreme Court Judges like Scalia and Roberts don’t worry about improving anybody’s lives and she shouldn’t either.

Having two women on the Supreme Court is too much representation.   There are many jobs in this country where women make up a small minority.  How are these people supposed to feel they get a fair shake from a court with two women.   If the Supreme Court is called on to look at Major League Baseball’s anti-trust exemption, how can a court with 2 women rule fairly on a sport with no female players?

I urge you, sir or madame, to vote against the confirmation of Judge Sonia Sotomayor!  I have used an exclamation mark as a sign of how very angry I am right now.   Judge Sotomayor does not have judicial temprament.  No less an authority than Karl Rove has called her a bully on more than one occassion.  Rush Limbaugh has called her a racialist.

I urge you, sir or madame, as you consider this nomination, not to only consider Sotomayor’s history as a Judge, but to consider your constituents, too—ALL of your constituents—not just a select few, but even people like me who live outside your state.

I urge you, Senator, to STAND UP FOR YOUR CONSTITUENTS—LISTEN TO YOUR CONSTITUENTS-LOVE YOUR CONSTITUENTS-BE YOUR CONSTITUENTS.

Remember—you were elected by the people! You were elected to serve the people! Even though I may have worked for or sent money to your opponent, you were elected to serve me!

Stand strong for people like me and against this nomination of Judge Sotomayor!

Sincerely,

Nate Peele
