Republican Scandal Shakes Nation

with 3 comments

As a loyal member of the GOP, I feel extremely embarrassed to have been hoodwinked by Michael Steele and the other members of the RNC.  I was watching The Producers tonight and it suddenly occurred to me how we lost the one party dream or Karl Rove.  When you look at the math, nobody really cares how much the losing candidate raises.  Think about it, we heard about how much was raised for Obama’s campaign, but did we ever hear how much John McCain raised?

With creative accounting, the RNC has been able to raise vast sums of money for its crooked leadership by taking donations from people like myself and then running campaigns deliberately designed to lose.  Think about what we’ve done since January—Hip Hop Republicans, Advocating Torture, Trying to rename our opponents?   These are strategies designed to lose support not garner it.  I feel very foolish not to have seen through this before.  My fellow conservatives, we’re being hoodwinked.

Taking Back the Country Republican Style

with 6 comments

republican-and-proudI remember when my daughter was in first grade.  She ran out of school crying.  I asked her why and she told me that Poopy Head had called her a name.  Now, I knew some of the people in her class, but I had no idea who Poopy Head was.   It turns out it was a boy named Brett who had made fun of her.  She was so upset that she couldn’t call him by his name anymore so she started calling him Poopy Head.

I totally can relate.   Today, as a party we are stepping forward to do exactly the same thing.  In an email sent out to 168 RNC members on Wednesday, RNC committeeman James Bopp stated, “The proposed resolution acknowledges that and calls upon the Democrats to be truthful and honest with the American people by renaming themselves the Democrat Socialist Party.  Just as President Reagan’s identification of the Soviet Union as the ‘evil empire’ galvanized opposition to communism, we hope that the accurate depiction of the Democrats as a Socialist Party will galvanize opposition to their march to socialism.”

I think this idea has a lot of merit to it.   Don’t forget the Bush’s huge foreign policy success achieved by using the moniker Axis of Evil.  As any Captain and Tennille fan will tell you  a catchy name goes a very long way.   Look how well we did calling torture harsh interrogation.   The only problem is I wonder how many people even know what a socialist is anymore.   I think we may be better off calling them the Stinky Party or the Stupid Party.  Maybe the Stinky Stupids.  I definitely think that we should stop calling ourselves the Republicans.  Like Blackwater, when your reputation gets tarnished enough it may be time to change your name.  I really like the sound of the Guns and God Party.

Steele Challenges Republicans to Change

with 5 comments

It was a proud day for the Republican Party when Michael Steele was named as chairman of the RNC.  He had plenty of experience before this as Maryland Lieutenant Governor and before that as bass player for the Runaways and Bangles  in the 1980s.  Now, Steele has issued a challenge to the Republican party.  In an interview in the Washington Times Steele said, “We need messengers to really capture that region — young, Hispanic, black, a cross section … We want to convey that the modern-day GOP looks like the conservative party that stands on principles. But we want to apply them to urban-surburban hip-hop settings.”

All I have to say to Mr. Steele’s challenge is “Fo Schizzle”.   Now that I have become a Youtube celebrity I’ve been looking for a followup video and what some of you may not know is that I wrote an amazing rap that was the hit of the Great Lakes Region Independent Self-Storage Operator convention for 2006.  If I can make self-storage hip by mixing it with a little somethin’ somethin’, just think what I can do for the GOP and I’m not the only one.  This is a job for MC Karl Rove.  Michael Steele is right, it isn’t our ideas that are wack, its the way we’re frontin.   By this time next week I hope to have a followup video that captures the potential of the Republican Party for the hiphop community.

You down with GOP?
Yeah, you know me!

We Have a Black Guy Too!!

with 5 comments

2008republicannationalconventionday3-9shnzccquhl

I was overwhelmed to see at least a half-dozen black or brown faces at the Republican Convention this year

Today, the Republican National Committee has named former Maryland Lieutenant Governor Michael Steele as its head.  I know what you’re thinking and I am proud to announce that after several google searches I can confirm that Mister Steele is indeed African-American.   I expect that he may have been the African-American that I thought I saw several times at the Republican Convention last November.

Republicans like myself who were disheartened when Alan Keyes left the party last year, can take pride in knowing that we now have a black man in charge of our party.   What should truly be a source of pride for all Republicans is that 40% of all black RNC members ran for President of the organization.  With Steele at the helm, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a black Republican Senator or Governor by 2014 or 2016.

Of course, the greatest thing about the election of Steele was that his selection was a way to say to the rest of the world, “Hey, we’ve got a black guy too!”   Several other lower RNC positions were also filled tonight, but things had to be streamlined so that that Republicans could get out of the hall before a scheduled wedding.

Live Blogging of Joe Lieberman Speech

with 2 comments

Joe Leiberman in his younger days as Willie on Alf.

9:39 – Is he still a Democrat?  Its like having a girl in the He Man Woman Haters Club

9:40 – Wow! He said they wonder if hurricane victims are Dems or Republicans.

9:43 – I checked, he’s independent.  So when he says country matters more than party it means less since he has a country, but not a party.

9:44 – Somebody in the crowd by the mic keeps yelling “Yes”.  I think I sat behind him at a Van Halen concert once.  He remdins me of the diner scene in When Harry Met Sally.

9:50 – Nice slam on eloquence

9:56 – Standing ovation!!

9:56 – He’s picked up the McCain “My Friends” thing

9:59 – Talking just to Democrats – Great idea.  He’s loved by Democrats even if he’s an independent.
